No two ducted systems cost the same, because no two homes are the same. The honest answer to what ducted air conditioning costs is a range, and the range depends on decisions and site facts we can only confirm by looking at your home. This page explains what actually moves the price, so the quote you get makes sense line by line. We design and install ducted air conditioning across the Gold Coast, mostly Daikin and Samsung systems with AirTouch zone control, installed by our own licensed technicians and sized properly for the house.

We design to your budget

Tell us the number you have in mind. It is a normal part of the conversation and it changes what we design, not whether we are interested. Day and night zoning is one option, where bedrooms and living areas run at different times on a smaller unit, and a staged design lets you add zones later. At the other end we will design and install the full whole-home system and do it properly. Either way you get the honest version of what your budget buys. If you would rather talk it through first, contact us.

What changes the price

  1. Unit size and capacity. A bigger or more open house needs more kilowatts, and that sets the size of both the indoor fan coil and the outdoor unit.

  2. Zones, and the zone control system you choose. Every zone adds a motorised damper, a sensor and control wiring, and controllers range from basic to full app control. Whether the design runs a bypass or goes without one changes the ductwork and how the system behaves at low airflow.

  3. Access. Roof space, roof pitch, insulation and how much room there is to work all change the hours, and so do long duct runs, tight ceiling voids and the number of outlets.
Power and the run from the switchboard. Single phase or three phase, and how far a new circuit has to travel from the board, both show up in the number. Time of year matters too, because peak season books out and a shoulder season install is usually the better buy.

How we design your system

  • Every system is properly designed in software before we quote. The design accounts for room sizes, which direction each room faces, window sizes, ceiling heights and the airflow each room needs.

  • On site we check switchboard capacity, and whether it needs an upgrade to carry the load.

  • We check roof access, insulation, and how much room there is to run duct.

  • We work out where the outdoor unit can sit and how far it is from the fan coil, and we set up the zone control. We install Daikin and Samsung ducted systems with AirTouch zone control.
We size the system to the house rather than to a price list, then put the number in writing before anything is booked.

WHAT DUCTED USUALLY COSTS HERE

  • Replacing an existing ducted system, roughly $7,000 to $10,000

  • A typical single storey Gold Coast home, roughly $10,000 to $16,000

  • A larger home or a two storey home, roughly $16,000 to $28,000

  • Those figures include GST and come from our own ducted quotes between January 2025 and July 2026. They are a guide, not a quote. The only number that matters for your place is the one we put in writing after we have looked at it.
