We service air conditioning across the Gold Coast, on the systems we installed and on systems other companies put in. How often a system needs a visit depends on how hard it works and where it sits, so we set that with you rather than putting a date on it.

How often a system needs servicing

There is no single answer that fits every system. A system in a doctors surgery runs most of the working day, every working day, and needs looking at far more often than a split in a spare bedroom that gets used a few weeks a year. Run hours matter most, then the environment: dust, salt air near the water, pets, and how much cooking or foot traffic passes the indoor unit. Tell us what the system is and how the space gets used, and we will tell you what interval makes sense for it.

What a service visit is for

An air conditioner works by moving air, so anything in the way of that air makes the system work harder for the same result. Filters and coils collect dust. Outdoor units collect leaves, grass clippings and whatever the wind brings. A system carrying a season of that runs longer to hold the same temperature, and running longer costs more.

Refrigerant is licensed work in Australia. Our technicians hold ARC Refrigerant Handling Licence L171935 and the company holds ARC RTA AU57945, so refrigerant checks are done in house by the same people who install our systems. We are electricians as well, so any electrical work is done by a licensed electrician on the same visit rather than passed to a second trade.

Where a system sits changes what it deals with. An outdoor unit on the beach side of the house deals with salt in the air. One beside a busy road or a building site deals with dust. Indoor units in kitchens and busy rooms load up faster than the one in a quiet bedroom. None of that is unusual. It just means two identical systems in two different homes will not be due at the same time.

We agree the scope of the visit before we book it, and we confirm the quoted price before work starts. If something unexpected turns up, we stop and talk to you before it costs anything.

Splits, ducted systems and commercial premises

Split systems are what most homes have: one indoor head, one outdoor unit, one room or one open living area. Servicing a split is mostly about keeping the air path clean and checking the system is doing what it should for the space it covers. Ducted systems have more to look after: the indoor unit in the roof space, the ducting, the grilles in each room, the outdoor unit and the zone controls. Zones that run every day and zones that are barely used do not age at the same rate, which is worth telling us when you book. The install side is covered on our ducted air conditioning page.

Offices, shops and medical rooms run their systems hard. Open all day, full of people, and often with equipment adding heat to the room. Those systems come around far more often than a home system does, and most of the value is in keeping them running efficiently right through summer.

Systems do not last forever. When one has reached the end of its life we say so on site and quote a replacement install, sized for the space rather than matched to whatever was there before. We will tell you just as plainly when a system has years left in it.

How a servicing job runs

Tell us what system you have, roughly how old it is, and where it sits. That is usually enough for us to book the right visit with the right technician. For a ducted system we will ask about roof space access as well.
