Do I need Wi-Fi for CCTV?
No, not always. Wired systems record directly to an NVR and can run without internet. Wi-Fi or mobile data is only needed if you want to view your cameras remotely or back up footage to the cloud.
How long is footage stored for?
Most systems keep recordings for 2 to 8 weeks depending on storage size and camera count. We can adjust recording quality and frame rates to extend storage time if needed.
Can I view my cameras on my phone?
Yes. Every system we install can be viewed live or played back through a secure mobile app. You’ll also get motion alerts and the ability to download clips straight from your phone.
What’s the difference between wired and wireless systems?
Wired systems are best for reliability and consistent video quality, while wireless systems are ideal for properties where running cable is difficult. Both can record locally and back up to the cloud.
Do I need a licence to install CCTV myself?
In Queensland, security system installation must be performed by a licensed security technician. Vision Electrical is fully licensed to design, supply and install CCTV systems legally and safely.
